PDIP politician, Deddy Sitorus, stated that they have not received a letter of resignation from President Jokowi's eldest son until now. He advised Gibran to leave the party with the same formality as when he joined.

"Come in face, leave in kind," Deddy remarked.

Gibran, on the other hand, continues to evade confirming his status as a PDIP member. He merely insists that he has communicated with PDIP's Chairman of the Central Executive Board, Puan Maharani, and the National Campaign Team Chairman for Ganjar President (TPN-GP), Arsjad Rasjid.

Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming will become the third pair to register as presidential and vice-presidential candidates with the KPU.
